NON-LINEAR VIDEO EDITOR

iFilmGroup in London, Ontario is looking for a Video Editor who owns their own system who is willing to be the main editor on future films and a couple currently in post-production.

The successful candidate should be passionate about the craft of film-making and can work closely with the Director of the film to create the proper tone and feel for the film.  Ideal candidates are innovative, curious, self-motivated, goal-oriented, who can work both independently and collaboratively.  

  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in non-linear digital video editing, preferably in dramatic storytelling film format and style.

  • Expert knowledge of various editing platforms

  • Experience in Adobe After Effects and experience with the full Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Encoder, etc.)

  • Advanced knowledge of video standards and codecs


ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

iFilmGroup in London, Ontario is seeking submissions for an Assistant Director for the production department and for future film productions.

This person will be responsible for helping to support the director’s vision and to work with the Community Engagement Manager to find resources for talent, crew, locations and other production related aspects.

They Assistant Director will work closely with the core artistic team with a particular emphasis on supporting the director/production team head to assist in dealing with administrative and production-related matters.  The successful candidate will be an emerging or early-career director looking to gain experience with a growing Production house.

KEY DUTIES/ROLE: assists the production manager, Community Engagement Manager, and director. The ultimate aim of any AD is to ensure the film comes in on schedule while maintaining a working environment in which the director, principal artists (actors) and crew can be focused on their work.

AD oversees day-to-day management ‘administrative duties’ in charge of overseeing all department heads of the cast and crew scheduling during production. Also oversees equipment, script, and set.

A 1st AD may also be responsible for directing background action for major shots or the entirety of relatively minor shots, at the director's discretion.

AD duties included: tracks daily progress against the filming production schedule, arranges logistics, prepares daily call sheets, checks with cast and crew on needs, and maintains order on the set. AD will also take care of the health and safety of the crew.  AD is the “company sergeant” who communicates with all cast and crew to keep on schedule.

The AD represents the PM onset and is the Director’s right hand. Works with security to secure set.  Oversees: 2nd AD, 3rd AD, and Continuity / Script Supervisor.
