We’re back with another behind-the-scenes look at the people who make our film community shine. This time, we're thrilled to speak with Matthew Marshall of iFilmGroup for our #LocalLens series!

Q: Tell us about yourself! 🎤

A: iFilmGroup is a multi-generational mentoring, training, and filmmaking organization made up of filmmakers in Southwestern Ontario working with individuals that want to enter into the acting and film industry. We offer training and workshops in the areas of acting, and filmmaking, as well as standard & accredited mentoring placements. Teaching is our mantra. We also host casting calls and auditions for various roles in films and for the iFilmGroup virtual training segments.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone starting out in the industry? 🌟

A: Be bold and willing to learn. Be willing to be a sponge and take in learning, lessons and techniques. Learning is a big part of the industry and never stops. Always remember everything you learn in your development is knowledge that can never be taken from you. So always be bold and keep learning. And above all else never give up!

Q: What makes the London Ontario Film Community Special? 🍁

A: The untapped resources and talent we have related to the film industry. London may be just starting to grow it’s film industry but it has huge potential and opportunity and a wide range of talent and skills ready to show the world what we can do. It’s impressive to be on the ground floor of something that could be really big someday. I see the potential. We have all the right raw materials to grow this industry right in our own backyard.
