A Review of iFilmGroup?

iFilmGroup is a Southwestern Ontario film, acting-training, mentoring and filmmaking organization, with a strong focus on London, Ontario, while also serving areas such as St. Thomas and Chatham-Kent.

What makes iFilmGroup somewhat different from a conventional acting school is that it combines training with practical filmmaking and mentoring. Its programs cover acting fundamentals, scene work, character development, auditions, self-tapes, on-camera performance and knowledge of how film sets operate.

Where is iFilmGroup heading?
Our organization is evolving from simply being a local filmmaking/mentoring group into a broader:
Acting training + practical filmmaking + industry education + mentoring organization for Southwestern Ontario.

That, along with newer material focusing on “Beginner to Bookable” acting training, along with other important areas including actor safety, casting submissions, character work, objectives, obstacles, power dynamics and practical filming, all fits very well with the direction that iFilmGroup is heading into 2027-2028.

The iFilmGroup Acting Training Module Program continues to grow each month with at least one new segment being added. Exciting content is coming soon to the site. Including Segments related to; Actor safety for various situations, along with “Casting Submissions Do’s and Don’ts”, “Qualities Casting Directors are looking for”, “Skills for Actors”, “Steps to becoming an actor”, “How to be a bookable Actor”, “I want to become an actor”, “What do I need to learn about Acting?”, “The Art of Acting: What makes a Great Actor?”, “How to perform a Monologue”, “Self-Tape Auditions: From setup to Submission”, “Terms to Know on a film Set”, and “The Business of acting”.

A particularly interesting direction iFilmGroup has taken in 2026, and one of the strongest developments, is the organization's increasing emphasis on actor safety and industry awareness. Recent training/casting material addresses audition and set red flags, boundaries, uncomfortable situations, consent-related issues, hostile work environments, and the right of performers to refuse situations that weren't previously agreed upon.

This gives iFilmGroup a potentially distinctive identity: not just teaching actors how to perform, but teaching actors how to navigate the film industry safely and professionally.

Online Training Module Program

Its major areas of activity includes:
Acting training — from people with no experience through more experienced performers.

Acting workshops and scene study — including objectives, character development, relationships, blocking and on-camera work.

Online Acting Training Module Program — currently offering 30+ short educational segments covering subjects such as Acting 101, becoming an actor with no experience, self-tapes, roles on set, auditioning and audio for actors.

Hands-on filmmaking — participants can learn while actually being involved in productions rather than only studying acting in a classroom.

Casting and Production — iFilmGroup produces training footage and independent film projects and holds casting opportunities for actors.

Mentoring — its broader mission is multi-generational mentoring, connecting people with different levels of experience and encouraging experienced participants to help newer people.

iFilmGroup isn't simply presenting itself as a place where someone takes an acting class.

Its current model is much closer to “learn acting → understand the industry → practice on camera → participate in filmmaking → develop professionally → learn how to protect yourself in the industry”
